(THE LHA) LEVEL 1 EXPERIENCE PROGRAMME –

(6 WEEKS)

The uk’s first Top-rated FAST TRACK Hairdressing Academy

Course Overview

Our 6 week Experience Programme is designed as a taster course into the world of hairdressing for individuals who are unsure whether hairdressing is the right career choice for them and would like to explore the industry in a practical, hands-on way before committing to a full-time professional qualification.

This 6-week programme provides real insight into salon life, the skills required to work in the industry, and the expectations of a professional hairdresser.

The course runs once a week on Sundays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm for 5 weeks in person & week 6 online for final submissions and lecturer feedback week. Learners will develop and practise core salon skills including shampooing and conditioning, blow-drying, curling, straightening, and styling techniques as well as intro to basic colour application techniques and cutting. Training is delivered step by step through demonstrations and guided practice to build confidence before working independently.

Working on models for blow-dry and styling is introduced in Week 4 and Week 5, once learners have been fully trained in the basic techniques. This allows you to apply your skills in a realistic salon setting and gain experience with client interaction, timing, and service delivery.

This programme is fully practical-based only.

There are:

  • No written exams
  • No theory assignments
  • No formal assessments
  • Weekly photo homework that must be completed and uploaded for progress tracking and feedback

All learning takes place through practical demonstrations, hands-on training, and supervised practice in an academy environment.

This programme is intended purely as an exploratory practical-based experience, helping learners decide whether they wish to progress onto a full professional hairdressing qualification.
