BEGINNERS COLOURING CLASS – Course Overview

IN-HOUSE CERTIFICATION

THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR LEARNERS WITH PRIOR EXPERIENCE OR KNOWLDGE LOOKING TO GET INTO THE WORLD OF COLOUR. THIS COURSE IS ALSO IDEAL AS A REFRESHERS COURSE FOR THOSE WHO ARE GETTING BACK INTO THE HAIRDRESSING INDUSTRY. (THIS COURSE CONSISTS OF INTENSIVE COLOUR THEORY PRIOR KNOWLEDGE IS IMPERATIVE).

SESSION STRUCTURE

Class will consist of the following:

  • Live in-class Lecturer demonstrations.
  • Student practical training on blocks.
  • Student practical training on live models
  • Access to google classrooms after completion of the programme to access all course content and demos studied.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS & KIT LIST

Students are not required to hold any prior hairdressing qualifications, however, a basic level of Maths and English essential when working with colour theory and ratios.

Kit List:
A kit list will be provided to all students after successful enrolment onto the programme. Kit list contents will be sent via email.

COURSE FEE’S & DURATION

Duration: 1 session (8 hour session, 1 day a week) over a period of 1 week.
Price: £700 (payments are to be made in full before the course start date)

COURSE MODULES – WHAT WILL I BE STUDYING?

All students shall be completing the following modules:

Colour theory refresher
Root colour Application
Full head colour application
Darken & lighten the hair
Intro to Highlighting techniques (taster)

 

What are Formative and Summative Assessments?

Students will be required to carry out a varied number and range of summative assessments on clients for each unit in order to pass the practical aspect of the programme. 

Formative Assessments – A Practice of practical assessments on students or clients in class.

Summative Assessments – A Successful and correctly completed practical assessment in class, consultation sheets will be filed in learners portfolios to evidence a successful summative assessment which will be marked and inspected by the examining body VTCT.

 Students who do attend class and complete the required amount of summative assessments will not be able to pass the programme.Â
